<h4>La leyenda de Suriyothai, una leyenda <i>real</i></h4>

Hoy fui a ver "The Legend of Suriyothai" la pelicula, como diria mi maestro de cine es: Buen intento, pero fallido. Creo que el error como sabiamente nos decia fue que trató de abarcar muchos años, muchos sucesos de la historia y muchos personajes (+ motivaciones)en solo 2 horas y media. Aun con todo esto, terminas agarrandole sabor. Otro punto importante es que deberían de haber cambiadole el nombre: De La Leyenda de Suriyotai, a "la verdadera historia de Thailandia" porque realmente la película fue realizada con el propósito de educar al público tailandés sobre la historia del país. Pues fue escrita y dirigida por el principe de Tailandia. Tardó muchos años es finalizarse, y fue estrenada en Cannes en el 2001 como proyecto en vias de desarrollo. No me mal intrepeten la pelicula es digna de ir a verse y no se van a aburrir, y tiene muy bonito encuadre. Por lo mismo que se tardo mucho en realizar, se tuvo varios cinematografos: 3. Parte del vestuario asi como props y armas de guerra son realmente antigüedades de esa época. Como dije anteriormente; Vale la pena verla! Le doy 3 estrellas y media. Nota: Cabe aclarar que batio records de taquilla en Tailandia en julio del 2001, superando a Godzilla; inclusive los distribuidores americanos retrasaron sus estrenos 2 semanas, en aquel entonces: Jurasic Park III. Esta sin duda va a ser la película que Tailandia submitirá a la entrega de los oscares.

Today I saw "The Legend of Suriyothai" the film as my film language teacher would say: Nice try! but failed! :Op I think the errors of the film are as follow: they try to cover to many years, too many events and there are too many characters involved (along with motivations) even for 2 hours and a half! at the begining you get confused but you get it though. But don't get me wrong it has great visuals (a little too underexposed for my taste ) and it took several years to get the film done. The movie acomplish it's purpose: to teach the people of thai about their history. The film was written and directed by the prince of Thailand and because of the time involved it had 3 cinematographers. the best part is the Make up & wardrobe, along with war props some of them real antiques from that age!!. and for that I give it 3 and a half stars!!! By the way the film opened at Cannes may 2001 as a project still in progress. Note: This movie broke all records in July 2001 in his own country, overwhelming Godzilla; and Jurassic Park III which had to wait 2 weeks to open. This is certainly Thailand's bet for the Academy Awards.
